Our Mission

Restoring Hope Through Equine-Assisted Healing

Compassionate, evidence-informed mental health support for adolescents and adults experiencing eating disorders, trauma, and life challenges.

At Faith Works Stable Foundation, we believe healing happens through connection, trust, and purposeful growth. By combining the expertise of licensed mental health professionals with the unique therapeutic power of horses, we create opportunities for individuals to build resilience, develop healthier coping skills, and move forward with renewed hope.

Whether you are seeking support for an eating disorder, recovering from trauma, navigating emotional challenges, or serving in a military or first responder role, you are welcome here.

Healing for Individuals, Families, and Those Who Serve

Faith Works Stable Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving emotional wellness and supporting meaningful recovery through equine-assisted therapeutic services.

We proudly serve:

  • Adolescents and adults experiencing eating disorders

  • Individuals recovering from trauma

  • Active-duty military personnel

  • Veterans and military families

  • First responders

  • Law enforcement officers

  • Firefighters

  • EMS professionals

  • Dispatchers and public safety personnel

Our mission is rooted in three guiding principles: Faith, Work, and Stability.

We believe lasting change occurs when individuals are supported by compassionate professionals, meaningful relationships, and an environment that encourages personal growth. Through therapist-guided interactions with horses and evidence-informed mental health practices, participants are empowered to rediscover hope, confidence, and resilience.

Supporting Recovery Beyond the Symptoms

Equine-Assisted Support for Eating Disorder Recovery

Eating disorders affect millions of individuals across the lifespan and often involve far more than food, weight, or body image concerns. Many individuals struggling with eating disorders also experience anxiety, depression, perfectionism, trauma, low self-worth, and difficulties in relationships.

Recovery requires more than symptom management. It requires healing the emotional, relational, and psychological factors that contribute to the disorder.

Faith Works Stable Foundation incorporates equine-assisted therapeutic interventions as a powerful complement to traditional mental health treatment. Through carefully structured, therapist-guided experiences, participants develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, confidence, and trust.

Unlike traditional recreational horse programs, our approach focuses on intentional therapeutic engagement. Participants may work alongside horses through activities such as grooming, feeding, leading, observation exercises, mindfulness practices, and relationship-building activities designed to support emotional growth.

Horses provide immediate, honest feedback and respond authentically to human emotions and behaviors. These interactions often create opportunities for insight and healing that can be difficult to achieve through conversation alone.

Our goal is to help individuals strengthen coping skills, improve self-confidence, develop healthier relationships, and move toward lasting recovery.

A Place Where Service Is Understood

Supporting Military, Veterans, and First Responders

Military personnel, veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS professionals, dispatchers, and their families often carry invisible burdens that can impact every aspect of life.

Exposure to trauma, operational stress, burnout, grief, moral injury, and post-traumatic stress can create challenges that are difficult to navigate alone.

Faith Works Stable Foundation is committed to supporting those who dedicate their lives to serving others.

Our clinicians have extensive experience working with military personnel, first responders, and trauma survivors. Through evidence-informed approaches and equine-assisted interventions, participants are provided opportunities to process experiences, develop resilience, strengthen emotional wellness, and build healthier coping strategies.

Participants engage in meaningful interactions with horses in a safe, supportive environment where healing can occur without judgment and at their own pace.

Whether someone is actively serving, transitioning to civilian life, or seeking support after years of carrying the weight of service, they will find understanding, compassion, and encouragement here.

What Is Equine-Assisted Therapy?

Healing Through Connection

Equine-assisted therapy is a therapeutic approach that incorporates structured interactions with horses as part of the healing process.

At Faith Works Stable Foundation, services emphasize ground-based therapeutic interventions led by licensed mental health professionals.

Participants do not need prior horse experience.

Many activities take place entirely on the ground and may include:

  • Grooming and caring for horses

  • Leading exercises

  • Communication and trust-building activities

  • Emotional regulation exercises

  • Mindfulness and grounding practices

  • Problem-solving and teamwork activities

These experiences provide valuable opportunities to explore emotions, strengthen self-awareness, improve communication skills, and practice new coping strategies in real time.

Research and clinical experience continue to demonstrate the value of equine-assisted interventions in supporting emotional wellness, trauma recovery, confidence building, and personal growth.

Our Approach

Evidence-Informed. Trauma-Informed. Person-Centered.

Faith Works Stable Foundation integrates equine-assisted interventions with evidence-informed mental health practices designed to support the whole person.

The Foundation is led by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor (LMFT-S), EMDR-trained clinician, and Certified Trauma Specialist who works alongside a team of skilled professionals dedicated to helping individuals heal and thrive.

Our clinicians utilize approaches that may include:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

  • Brainspotting-informed interventions

  • Trauma-focused therapies

  • Mindfulness-based approaches

  • Strength-based counseling techniques

  • Equine-assisted therapeutic experiences

Every participant's journey is unique. Our role is to meet individuals where they are, honor their experiences, and help them build a path forward.

Our Vision

Creating a Future Where Healing Is Accessible to All

Faith Works Stable Foundation envisions a future where innovative, compassionate, and effective mental health support is accessible to individuals and families across the lifespan.

As we continue to grow, we seek to expand opportunities for eating disorder recovery support, trauma-informed care, military and first responder services, community education, research initiatives, workforce development, and collaborative partnerships.

Our long-term vision is to serve as a model for integrating trauma therapy, eating disorder recovery, and equine-assisted interventions in ways that transform lives and strengthen communities.

By investing in people, relationships, and evidence-informed approaches to healing, we believe meaningful change is possible.

"In the presence of a horse, people often discover strengths they didn't know they possessed."
