The Faith Works Stable Foundation(FWSF)

Founded in 2023 by Dr. Bianca RamosDelRio, the Faith Works Stable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to equine-assisted healing and education. Built on three principles—Faith, Work, and Stability—the foundation helps individuals become their best selves through belief in their goals, committed effort, and a supportive environment.

The foundation rescues and rehabilitates horses while providing resources and services for professionals, organizations, military personnel, first responders, and families in North Carolina.

We also offer an Equine Homeschool Program, where students learn horsemanship, horse care, responsibility, and teamwork through hands-on experiences.

Your contributions support outreach, scholarships, research, and global programs. All donations are tax-deductible as permitted by U.S. law.

Equine Therapy

Equine therapy is a form of experiential therapy that involves interactions between humans and horses. At our practice, Dr. Bianca Ramosdelrio, PhD, leads a team of skilled clinicians who specialize in treating military personnel, first responders, and trauma survivors. Our therapists utilize evidence-based approaches, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), to support clients in processing traumatic experiences while engaging in equine-assisted therapy.

Some examples of activities include grooming, feeding, and leading the horse through therapist-guided exercises designed to promote emotional regulation and personal growth.

Benefits of Equine Therapy:

  • Emotion Regulation

  • Stress Tolerance

  • Independence

  • Confidence

  • Problem-Solving Skills

  • Empathy

These are just some of the benefits associated with equine therapy. Horses, being non-judgmental yet highly self-aware, serve as ideal therapeutic companions. Their ability to reflect human attitudes and behaviors provides clients with valuable insight into their own emotions, expectations, and interpersonal patterns.

Treatment Applications

Equine therapy is beneficial for a range of conditions, including:

  • Behavior Disorders

  • Mood Disorders

  • Learning Differences

  • Autism Spectrum

  • Grief and Loss

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Trauma-related distress, particularly in military personnel and first responders

By integrating equine therapy with trauma-focused modalities like EMDR, our clinicians help clients navigate emotional wounds, develop resilience, and foster meaningful healing.
